Join me for a week of painting in one of the most breathtaking places in the world, Lake Garda, Italy.
Each day we’ll sketch / paint on location, capturing the sights that depict our personal favorite sights, whether it large or small. A beautiful italian pastry, an elaborate architectural detail, a view of the mountains from a lakeside spot. There is an abundance of choices, ready for your interpretation.
We begin our week in the famed, romantic city of Verona, home to the tale of Romeo and Juliet. We’ll check into the Hotel Indigo des Artes, have our first orientation, followed by dinner together. The next day is free until 2pm when our coach will pick us up to take us to Lake Garda (1+ hour away). In the charming village of Villa di Gargnano we’ll check into our home for the next 6 nights – Hotel Gardenia al Lago.

Explore many ways of constructing a painting through merging collage elements with paint acting as the integrating element. Using water-based paint as the basis for the overall composition, start building, layering and merging elements to create an abstracted and expressive interpretation of your subject.
Emphasis will be on interpreting rather than copying, simplifying detail and shapes, and embracing creative opportunities for unexpected results. Find your creative voice as you discover how various media work together and what processes best align with your vision and goals.
