Color: From Boring to Brilliant
In this lesson we will be covering value simplification. When we look at a scene or an image, our eyes have the ability to see hundreds/thousands/millions of values. When we are translating images to colors of our choice, it helps immensely to learn how to simplify and edit the number of values down to 3, 5, 10, or as few as we can manage. This is a learned skill, and requires practice. The reason to simplify is that it helps with a bolder, more dramatic composition. Plus, when you are translating values to colors - your own chosen colors - it will help make this process much easier. Learning how to group similar values together is one of the most important skills one can learn to advance in their painting journey.
