Venice is a city so rich in artistic possibilities that no matter where your sights settle, on a church, a cathedral ornament, a majestic statue, a vibrant piazza, you will be immersed in art. Venice IS art. It is magic, mystery and ornate centuries-old beauty all wrapped up in one stunning Italian jewel.

Each day of the workshop we will find visually rich venues to explore, capture and enjoy. Demonstrations will be offered in painting and drawing. The focus will be on simplifying values, developing strong compositions, working creatively with color, and more.

The workshop is open to all painting and drawing media. The demonstrations will be given in acrylics/oils, as well as dry media. Many people do not want the burden of dragging heavy easels and all the necessary supplies and solvents. Sketching is a lovely solution. Travel journals are a wonderful way to record your impressions in a lightweight, user friendly fashion, using dry media, graphite, watercolor pencils, or any combination. Personal instruction will benefit all levels - from the novice who wants to learn and understand the basics to the advanced painter who wants to develop and hone their skills and techniques.

We will get together daily for critiques, sharing insights and stories, enjoy a glass of wine in local trattorias, take in concerts, museums and all the best that Venice has to offer. In doing so we will make memories that will stay with us for a lifetime. I am looking forward to sharing it with you.
